HOn3 D&RGW#323 Vestibule car (& 7 others w-Long Body) San Juan Pass Car laser wood MRGS kit#3323. HOn3 MRGS D&RGW #323 (Long) Vestibule Passenger Car. Laser cut wood, with cast resin roof and plastic details. Kit #3323. The cast resin roof and laser cut parts, takes the hard work out of assembling these kits. This kit builds the longer (38 ft., most common) of the D&RGW San Juan/Shavano Passenger cars. Prototypically correct for seven (7) of these cars, numbers 272, 310, 312, 323, 325, 326 & 327. Some of these cars are operating on the Durango & Silverton and at Knott’s Berry Farm, all but 272 are still in existence. See R. Robb’s Book,”NARROW GAUGE PICTORIAL, Vol II” for many photos of many different prototype cars. Prototype photos from the internet, model photo (272) built up by the late Jim Vail, model is in the MRGS collection and is not for sale. Built up model(s) is shown for reference, you are bidding on a KIT for this car, see additional photographs. Highly rated by reviewers and modelers, this is the first time a kit for this car has been offered, your other choice would be brass, in HO scale. There are complete instructions included, but no diaphragms, trucks, decals, couplers, paint or glue. See review by the late Jim Vail in the NARROW GAUGE GAZETTE. Trucks are available (PN 5002A) for $ 11.55 a pair (see last photos), add them to your order. Not a quickie kit, craftsman quality, but easy and simple to assemble by the average kit builder. NOTE: Interested modelers; these kits (laser cut, RPO and Combine and others) are produced in very small lots (quantity is limited) sometimes only one (1), mostly as a result of limited material availability. Costs are skyrocketing. Therefore if you are watching availability and are considering a purchase I encourage taking advantage when one (1) is listed as there may not be another very soon.
