PRICE DROP WAS 383.00 NOW 323.00 TODAY IS-4/30/2023 THERE IS A DATE OF 1843 THIS SAMPLER IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION DONE BY A 12 YEAR OLD STUDENT THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE JUST ON A ITEM LIKE THIS ABE LINCOLN Was Only 34 YEARS OLD I HAD THIS ITEM FOR 27 YEARS IN MY E BAY ROOM/STORAGE UNDER IDEAL CONDITIONS NO LIGHT, NO SUNLIGHT, NO ETREME HEAT~~~MY HOME IS ALWAYS UNDER 24 Hours A/C THIS IS A BEAUTIFULLY MADE SAMPLER THAT SAIDS SO MUCH NOT ONLY IN WORDS BUT THE WAY IT WAS MADE WITH A LITTLE DETECTIVE WORK ITS SPEAKING TO YOU THIS IS A WELL KEEP SAMPLER DAY AND DATE SHOWN…..I Had this sampler now for 27 Years among other items that i purchase this for my Grandson with so many different items to give to him to sell later on when he gets to know about other items and perhaps he can sell them and cash it in later of his mature years…I spoke to my daughter and she said to me that it would be better if i Sold It myself and saved him the money for his college…I have other items like baseball items sets, and many baseball cards and coins from all over the world to keep in my collection,…I decided to sell my collection of Samplers amoung other items to sell now and this in one of the Samplers for sell……..Check Out the photos, and see for yourself how well perserve this Sampler is….I purchase it from a lady from West Yorksire Uk in 1994 27 years ago, as i said it has allot of information and even the maker her name–MARY ANN FOWLER, Age 12, she went to School at Whitnrell ON THIS SAMPLER HAS ALLOT OF INFORMATION AS FAR AS THE MAKER, AGE, THE SCHOOL ECT…….When She Constructed this Sampler she Emphensize more on her learning her Alphabet’s In Which She done Two Times and Numbers as you can see she brings them up to the # 16 looks like she just wanted to filled in end of the line.. Also her Needlework is large and if you think about it she is only 12 years old.. ,Instead of of doing Different Motifts as you see in many Samplers or perhaps you may see a mixture of both, to me it seems like she is learing more then just making a Sampler OF MANY Motifts like allot of birds, trees, florals,ECT… even though you do see she did some In Which she did needlworked in. And it do/es looks like Christmas Items, Like a Couple of Christmas tree’s, I think it perhaps was in the Holiday season where you can clearly see…WHEN LOOKING AT DIFFERENT SAMPLERS IT’S LIKE DOING DETECTIVE WORK, SAY LIKE SHERLOCK HOMES, You really have to look at the WHOLE Picture, ( NO MEANING OF PUNS )….You have to get into the head of the creator and really looking at everything….It does appear that she is english or her native launage is english IF YOUR WONDERING ABOUT THE FRAME , WHAT HAPPEN WITH THE FRAME THAT I WANTED TO BUT A NEW BACKING AND CHANGE THE Glass THE OLD ONE WAS CRACKED AND THE BACKING WAS FALING APART, I took it apart and I had a piece of new glass but it was 3″ to wide so i cut a new piece of glass and BINGO IT CRACKS, SO I TRY A DIFFERENT GLASS I HAD TO CUT ALSO SO IT WOULD FIT AND AGAIN IT CRACKS, I HAD TO GO TO THE STORE TO BUY A NEW GLASS ONE THAT WOULD FIT AND IT WAS A BIT TO LARGE SO I DECIDED TO KEEP IT IN ITS ORIGINAL FRAME SO I DID NOT WANT IT TO BREAK FOR THE 3RD TIME…BOTTOM LINE I WILL GIVE YOU THE ORIGINAL GOLD LOOKING FRAME WHICH IS THE ORIGINAL FRAME YOU CAN GET SOMEONE TO CUT YOU A GLASS OR ORDER A PIECE SO IT WILL FIT PERFECTLY OR HAVE A PROFESSIONAL GIVE YOU A NEW GLASS AND NICE BACKING AND USED THE GOLD LOOKING FRAME AND IT WILL LOOK LIKE A MILLION DOLLARS ..So What I did I compensate you and allowed you the cost to do that but you will get the origial gold frame you see in the photo’s vintage frame just beautiful…The wide brown frame is just for looks you will not get that frame i used it to take some photo’s so the Sampler will show better……. JUST WANT TO MENTION AGAIN OF THE GIRL’S NAME WHICH IS MARY ANN FOWLER 1843 IT’S HARD TO MAKE OUT THE NAME OVER THE COMPUTER BECAUSE THE COLOR IS CLOSE TO THE WEBBING YOU CAN SEE IT BETTER WHEN YOU HAVE IT IN FRONT OF YOU OR ITS TILTED A BIT….. The Measurements are approx. 12-1/4” x 10 ” Without frame. And Approx. 15-5/8” x 12 1/8″ with frame. The overall Condition is in Excellent Condition remember i had it stored in my E-Bay room Was Never hung or expose to any light but was packed for 27 Years No Dirt Or Dust never touch the weeving Materials because it was always under glass so that help over the years for protection… NO TEARS OR RIPS NOTED The Colors are still nice and bright for an item thats 179 years old AND I LOOK AT IT THIS WAY WHEN MARY ANN FOWLER WAS CONSTRUCTING THIS SAMPLER ABE LINCOLN WAS 34 YEARS OLD THAT’S HISTORY , THAT’S AMAZING A Beautiful Piece.
